Editorial policy
GovWait is built to make changing government wait-time data easier to understand without turning uncertainty into a promise.

Primary sources
Current numeric claims must come from the named government agency. Third-party articles and applicant anecdotes can suggest questions, but they do not replace official figures.
Append-only history
A changed official value creates a new dated observation. Prior observations remain available; the site never rewrites history to make a trend look cleaner.
Uncertainty stays visible
Unavailable, insufficient and unstamped source states are labelled as such. GovWait does not fill a blank with a guess or present a service standard as a guaranteed deadline.
Useful analysis
Editorial pages must add comparison, definition, history, methodology or planning context. Repeating an official number with generic prose is not enough.
Automation and AI assistance
Automated collectors retrieve permitted official values, and deterministic validators check schemas, status changes, extreme movement, duplicate routes and page output. AI tools may assist with research organization, drafting or code. AI output is not treated as a source. Numeric claims are generated from the validated dataset or checked against a linked primary source before publication.
GovWait does not claim that a lawyer, licensed immigration adviser or government officer reviewed a page unless that reviewer is explicitly named. No current page makes that claim.
Authorship and dates
Data-driven pages are published by the GovWait Research Desk, the organizational byline for the site’s collection, validation and explanatory work. A page’s “data checked” date reflects the latest source date or first-observed date represented on that page. Sitemap and structured-data dates use the same evidence; a routine rebuild does not create a fake update.
Commercial independence
Advertising or affiliate relationships, if activated, do not determine the processing-time values, route rankings or correction decisions. Paid placements will be labelled. GovWait does not sell visa services or claim it can accelerate an application.
