UK visa processing standards: baseline and changes
UKVI currently publishes 77 tracked processing-time categories across applications made inside and outside the UK. This report separates those contexts and preserves an honest baseline for later change detection.
There is not yet a second differing stored value for a UK category. A published standard remaining the same cannot be distinguished from “not yet compared” until another observation is stored, so this report does not label the baseline as unchanged.
Inside and outside the UK are different clocks
The same route can carry a different published time depending on where the application is made. The official clock begins after identity verification and document submission through the app, or after the biometric appointment, and ends when UKVI sends the decision notice.

Method and limits
GovWait records UKVI’s published processing time or service standard for each category and context. Standards are not maximums. UKVI lists document checks, interviews, further evidence, demand and technical outages among reasons an application may take longer.
