Visitor Visa processing time: current New Zealand figures
Immigration New Zealand currently reports that 50% of Visitor Visa applications are processed within 7 working days, and 80% within 14 working days. These are working days, excluding Saturdays, Sundays and New Zealand public holidays.
The figures are a guide based on current processing timeframes, not a deadline or promise for an individual application. Missing information, application complexity and peak demand can make a case take longer.
Which visitor-visa time this page reports
These current percentiles belong to the general Visitor Visa entry in INZ’s processing-time tool. They do not describe the historical Critical Purpose Visitor Visa used during COVID-19 border restrictions.
The two figures are working-day distribution points, not a promise that every application will finish by the 80% point. GovWait preserves both values without converting them into a guessed calendar date.
